Why Annular Cutters : Drilling large holes in metal can be very hard and time consuming. Cutting away a fair amount of material with conventional drill bits can produce heat and can cause flying chips. The annular cutter, named after its annulus shape, cuts only a groove at the periphery of the hole and leaves a solid core or slug at the center. Therefore they are perfect for cutting through all sorts of metal.

High Speed Steel (HSS) annular cutters:

HSS cutters are an affordable option for a wide range of materials. Although not suitable for extremely hard materials, HSS cutters are suitable for most commonly used mild steel and other softer materials. HSS cutters exert less stress on mag drills, making them a preferred choice for lightweight machines.
